Agency Power Intercooler Kit - 991 | Turbo/S (NLA)

Part# AP-991TT-108

Intercoolers are one of the most important parts of a turbocharger system to keep it running as efficient as possible. On a Porsche 911, the intercoolers are essential to the vehicles performance. As air goes through the turbocharger, it gets very hot, very fast. With an increase in temperature, the oxygen density drops. The intercoolers help cool the air to the engine with outside air flow through the core. Allowing for denser, more oxygen rich air to get into the engine allows for more fuel to be burned which provides more power. The difference in performance can easily be related to the Porsche 911 Turbo performance between Summer and Winter seasons.

Although the factory intercoolers and turbo system are designed well to produce over 500 horsepower on the Porsche 991 Turbo, there is room for improvement. A 991 Turbo or Turbo S with an exhaust, ECU tune, and other bolt-ons can reach almost 650 horsepower to the crank. Trying to achieve that extra tenth in the quarter mile, tenth in your 0-60 time, or improve your 1/2 mile mph run under intense full throttle conditions, an intercooler upgrade is the perfect add-on to the rest of the vehicle.

With a successful line of intercoolers for the Porsche 996 and 997 Turbo, Agency Power has developed their High Flow Porsche 991 Turbo Intercooler Kit. The intercooler incorporates CNC billet aluminum end tanks which are 3D machined to provide the ultimate flow and more capacity to the bar and plate core. The 1 piece end tanks have integrated machined fittings so you can use factory boost hoses. The end tanks and core are TIG welded together which will handle even the most extreme conditions. The core is roughly 90mm (3.5 inches) which allows for easy installation with slight modifications to the factory intercooler ducting. This provides a nice and clean OEM type finish. These intercoolers can support up to 1200 horsepower!

Keeping all variables the same, we tested these intercoolers on a 2014 Porsche 991 Turbo using an all wheel drive Mustang Dyno. The car was running basic bolt-ons, 91 octane, tested in 3rd gear, and had appropriate fans to simulate driving conditions. The intercoolers helped keep a consistent gain of 35 wheel horsepower once the turbos were spooled up between 3800 and 6000 rpm. Its peak horsepower gain was 17whp. Torque was greatly improved with the upgraded intercoolers seeing a massive gain of 50 ft/lbs under test conditions at 4300 rpm. Peak gain was roughly 33 ft/lbs of torque. The full potential of the upgraded intercoolers can be experienced under competition driving conditions.
