If you're washing your car, chances are you'll need a bucket. Buckets serve a variety of purposes in car washing including mixing up car wash soap if you're not using a foam cannon and for rinsing off your wash mitt during washing. Using a bucket to rinse your wash mitt is called the "2 bucket wash method" and allows you to rinse dirt off your mitt during washing, prevent scratching of your car's paint and clearcoat.

We chose to use a 3.5 gallon instead of a standard 5-gallon bucket because when washing a car 3.5 gallons is all you need. If you think about the last time you washed your car, you'll probably remember pouring out half a bucket of soapy water when you were done washing. Why waste soap and water if you don't have to. Another benefit of using a 3.5-gallon bucket is you don't have to submerge your entire arm in soapy water when your dipping your wash mitt.
