Eliminate sloppy shifts forever!
Our CNC machined shifter cable bushings tighten up the
movement of your shifter cables, literally connecting your hand to the gears. In
a performance situation, the factory rubber bushings flex causing a delay in the
engagement in the gears. Our bushings eliminate this delay and provide a
precision shift free of slop or hesitation.
Our shifter cable bushings are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum
and fit precisely within the factory endlink. Each bushing is sleeved with an
oil-impregnated bronze bearing. This bearing provides constant lubrication and a
lifetime of use without wear.
Specifically machined for a variety of fitments, our shifter
cable bushings provide instant results. Installation is a simple task and
requires only slight modification to the side/side endlink. If you're looking to
feel your shifts, these bushings are the answer! |

Important Clarification
The drawings below depict the 2 shapes of endlinks encountered
in the Mk4 and Mk5 chassis. Pin sizes will differ from shape to shape, and
within the shape. Bushing shapes don't always match the external shape of the
endlink!
The following endlink is the RECTANGULAR
endlink. The bushings we have created to fit this endlink are rectangular and
fit within the inner contours of the endlink.
The following endlink is the SQUARE endlink.
The bushings we have created to fit this endlink are ROUND and
fit within a round contour hidden by the rubber bushing. Once the rubber bushing
is removed, the round inner contours are revealed.
VW Mk4 Jetta, Golf, GTI
- 2002.5 - 2005
- 5 & 6 Speed
During model year 2002 VW ditched the ball/socket style
endlinks and shifter linkage in favor of simple pin/clip style connections. The
old style endlinks and shifter linkage, pictured below will not accept our
shifter bushings. If you have an early Mk4, the only option is to upgrade your
linkages and end links to the pin/clip style.
The Mk4 front/back endlink is square and accepts a version of
our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 10mm. This front/back endlink
connects directly to the weighted shift linkage. It is used on all mk4 5 & 6
speed transmissions after 2002.5.
The Mk4 side/side endlink is square and accepts a version of
our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 8mm. This side/side endlink
connects directly to the metal side/side linkage. It is used on all mk4 5 &
6 speed transmissions after 2002.5.
What could be different on my
car?
You may have the ball/socket style endlinks, regardless of
vehicle model year. VW did not make the change abruptly. In our research we've
found almost all Mk4 generation cars switched to the pin/clip style endlinks
during 2002.

Audi TT
Mk1
- 2002.5 - 2006

endlinks and shifter linkage in favor of simple pin/clip style connections. The
old style endlinks and shifter linkage, pictured below will not accept our
shifter bushings. If you have an early Mk1 TT, the only option is to upgrade
your linkages and end links to the pin/clip style.
The Mk1 TT front/back endlink is square and accepts a version
of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 10mm. This front/back endlink
connects directly to the weighted shift linkage. It is used on all Mk1 TT 5
& 6 speed transmissions after 2002.5.
The Mk1 TT side/side endlink is square and accepts a version
of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 8mm. This side/side endlink
connects directly to the metal side/side linkage. It is used on all mk1 TT 5
& 6 speed transmissions after 2002.5.

VW Mk5 Jetta, Golf,
Rabbit
The 2006-2007 Mk5 5 speed front/back endlink is rectangular
and accepts a version of our rectangular bushing. The pin diameter is roughly
8.5mm. This front/back endlink connects directly to the weighted shift linkage.
It is used on all Mk5 5 speed transmissions.
The 2006-2007 Mk5 5 speed side/side endlink is square and
accepts a version of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 8mm. This
side/side endlink connects directly to the metal side/side linkage. It is used
on all mk5 5 speed transmissions in 2006-2007.
What could be different on my
car?
VW has been pretty consistent with the 2.5 5 speed cars.
Lookout for your side/side bracket to be made of plastic. 2008+ cars switch to
plastic brackets which use different bushings. It's possible late 2007 cars
could use this plastic bracket.

VW Mk5 Jetta, Golf,

The 2008-2009 Mk5 5 speed front/back endlink is rectangular
and accepts a version of our rectangular bushing. The pin diameter is roughly
8.5mm. This front/back endlink connects directly to the weighted shift linkage.
It is used on all Mk5 5 speed transmissions.
The 2008-2009 Mk5 5 speed side/side endlink is square and
accepts a version of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 10mm. This
side/side endlink connects directly to the plastic side/side linkage. It is used
on all mk5 5 speed transmissions in 2008-2009.
To work around the flaws of a plastic side/side linkage, our
kit includes more than just two bushings. Our bushings are sized to properly
space the endlink and lack the internal bronze bearing. We include a pair of
bronze thrust washers, a bolt to strengthen the pivot pin, and all hardware
necessary for installation. This kit is specific to the Mk5 5 speed bracket
found on 2008-2009 cars.
What could be different on my
car?
Not much. VW has been fairly consistent with the shifter
linkage changes in the 2.5 5 speed cars. 2010 owners watch out - we suspect VW
is moving back to a metal side/side bracket with a pin size unique to the new
bracket.

VW Mk5 Jetta GLI,
GTI
The 2006 Mk5 front/back endlink is square and accepts a
version of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 10mm. This front/back
endlink connects directly to the weighted shift linkage. It is used on all Mk5 6
speed transmissions in 2006.
The 2006 Mk5 6 speed side/side endlink is square and accepts a
version of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 8mm. This side/side
endlink connects directly to the metal side/side linkage. It is used on all mk5
6 speed transmissions in 2006.
What could be different on my
car?
The 2006 Mk5 6 speed cars are using the same endlinks as the
Mk4, connected to the new 6 speed linkages. Somewhere between 2006 and 2007 the
front/back endlink and linkage was changed to the rectangular endlink. Watch out
for this change. Late 2006 cars could have the 2007 rectangular endlink.
