If serious power gains and exquisite sound is what you're looking for; consider the search officially over. Our FSI/TSI turbo-back exhaust systems provide instant results: significant horsepower and torque gains, high performance sound, and worry-free fitment. More than just a pile of pipes, our turbo-back systems are precision fabricated from CNC machined flanges, CNC mandrel bent piping, Magnaflow mufflers, and mirror polished tips. The result of our meticulous metalworking is a heavy duty exhaust system that fits like it should and outperforms the competition.

Modular by design, our turbo-back systems offer endless configuration options. Starting with the downpipe, our systems are available in street or race configurations. Street series systems include a Magnaflow 200 cell catalytic converter. Race series systems include a test pipe. On race day the cat can be easily swapped for a test pipe. An optional resonator provides a more mellow exhaust note, available at any time. The cat-back portion of our system is available in 2.5" or 3" piping. 3" piping is typically preferred for all-out power while 2.5" offers a more refined sound and powerband. A choice of two tip styles lets you choose the look you love.

Our FSI/TSI turbo-backs are technically a combination of our 3" downpipes and our 2.5" & 3" cat-backs. Repeating the features of our downpipes and cat-backs would only make a long story longer.

One feature our downpipes and cat-backs can't boast on their own is power gain. In our extensive testing we road tested our daily driver FSI with a long list of exhaust configurations. This list represents a true evolution of exhaust modifications - from a resonator delete, to a downpipe, and followed by numerous cat-backs. We found every exhaust modification to be worthwhile, but maximum gains were found using our 3" turbo-back. No power losses have been felt, and boost holds out longer with the stock turbocharger.

42 Draft Designs downpipes are available in two series: Street and Race. Street series downpipes include a catalytic converter. Race series downpipes include a test pipe. If you would like the ability to switch between street and race series you may purchase a cat section or test pipe at any time. Select the Related Items tab to browse available options.

If you're having trouble deciding which downpipe series to choose we recommend Street. Chances are you'll be driving your car on public roads, so keep it legal and grab a test pipe for race day.

Stainless Steel Option

Our stainless steel upgrade is straight-forward. We build your system using 304 stainless wherever possible. Starting with the flanges, we use 3/8" thick 304 stainless steel for every flange. Flanges are cut with precision on our OMAX Waterjet. Piping is mandrel bent per system using our CNC Mandrel Bender. We use the highest quality 304 stainless tubing designed for mandrel bending. Mild steel components such as 02 bungs and hangers are replaced with 304 stainless steel equivalents. We even replace the hardware with stainless steel bolts & copper locking nuts. Nothing is left to chance.

If road salt and extreme winters are in your future, consider upgrading to stainless steel.

Please add 2-5 days to the advertised fabrication time when purchasing our stainless steel option. Due to the size of our exhaust lineup it's impossible for us to stock every system in stainless. Typically, stainless exhaust systems are made-to-order.

V-band Flanges Option

42 Draft Designs now offers v-band connection flanges option with our stainless steel exhaust systems. Compared to 3-bolt flanges, exhaust systems built with v-band flanges are easier to install and adjust. V-band connections don't require a gasket, and can be serviced with a single tool. Overall, v-band flanges speed-up initial install and race-day component changes.

Our v-band flanges are CNC machined in-house from 304 stainless steel. We've created a male/female fitment specification for our flanges which aids in sealing the connection. We use Clampco stainless steel v-band clamps. Due to the material cost and manufacturing time, v-bands will remain a premium option.

**Beware Of Shiny Junk**

We are well aware that the internet is full of shiny stainless steel exhaust systems sold for unbelievable prices. These "stainless steel" systems are hardly exhaust systems. They are barely stainless steel and almost always a poor copy of an US or European system. The material used to make these systems is not certified or regulated. It's mostly US scrap metal shipped back on empty cargo ships. There's no telling what "grade" this material is. It's much thinner than advertised and typically breaks at the hot spot. What they claim are stainless steel flanges are really just thin, plasma cut hot roll steel flanges dipped in a chrome bath. Most of the time their "TIG" welds are just sloppy dress-up passes over MIG welds that are way too hot. There's more to tell, but I think we've made our point.

42 Draft Designs uses ONLY the finest North American made 304 stainless steel. We're not messing around. Our material is certified grade 304 stainless steel. We maintain our 16 gauge pipe thickness and 3/8" flange thickness when building our stainless steel systems. Every joint is meticulously TIG welded. Nothing is ground, sanded, brushed, polished, coated or otherwise covered up.

In the end, our attention to detail and demanding material choices are reflected in the value of this upgrade. When compared side-by-side with the competition our stainless steel fabrication always stand out. We use better materials that are proven to stand the test of time. We put more time and more care into each of our stainless steel exhaust systems than anyone in the business. We don't hide sloppy work by polishing our systems.
