Eliminate sloppy shifts forever!

Our CNC machined shifter cable bushings tighten up the movement of your shifter cables, literally connecting your hand to the gears. In a performance situation, the factory rubber bushings flex causing a delay in the engagement in the gears. Our bushings eliminate this delay and provide a precision shift free of slop or hesitation.

Our shifter cable bushings are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and fit precisely within the factory endlink. Each bushing is sleeved with an oil-impregnated bronze bearing. This bearing provides constant lubrication and a lifetime of use without wear.

Specifically machined for a variety of fitments, our shifter cable bushings provide instant results. Installation is a simple task and requires only slight modification to the side/side endlink. If you're looking to feel your shifts, these bushings are the answer!

The 2008-2009 Mk5 5 speed front/back endlink is rectangular and accepts a version of our rectangular bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 8.5mm. This front/back endlink connects directly to the weighted shift linkage. It is used on all Mk5 5 speed transmissions.

The 2008-2009 Mk5 5 speed side/side endlink is square and accepts a version of our round bushing. The pin diameter is roughly 10mm. This side/side endlink connects directly to the plastic side/side linkage. It is used on all mk5 5 speed transmissions in 2008-2009.

To work around the flaws of a plastic side/side linkage, our kit includes more than just two bushings. Our bushings are sized to properly space the endlink and lack the internal bronze bearing. We include a pair of bronze thrust washers, a bolt to strengthen the pivot pin, and all hardware necessary for installation. This kit is specific to the Mk5 5 speed bracket found on 2008-2009 cars.

What could be different on my car?

Not much. VW has been fairly consistent with the shifter linkage changes in the 2.5 5 speed cars. 2010 owners watch out - we suspect VW is moving back to a metal side/side bracket with a pin size unique to the new bracket.

If your car matches the specs above, you need the following shifter bushing kit:
