Porsche 911 S/T Unveiling + RS6 Power Increase!

Audi is announcing some enhancements to the RS6 Avant Performance and the RS7. The engineering team have managed to squeeze out an additional 30 horsepower and 37 lb-ft of torque, bringing those numbers to 621 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque respectively. It doesn’t just end there however, the center differential has been redesigned to be more robust, as well as cutting weight to increase overall performance. Sound insulation has also been reworked to minimize sound insulation between the engine compartment, interior, and the rear to provide an immersive experience as you experience the symphony the 621hp V8 provides. These are just some of the added updates you can expect. We can expect to see these performance models hitting the market this fall.
Porsche has unveiled the anniversary 911 S/T. The enthusiast focused car is definitely going to be tough to get as there are only going to be 1,963 examples. Powered by a naturally aspirated 518hp, 4.0-liter engine from the GT3 RS, which is being dropped into a GT3 Touring package chassis, all while being attached to manual transmission with a lightweight clutch, which is a first for a 992. This also makes it the lightest 992 model of its generation. To top it all off, the optional Heritage Design Package is inspired by the racing version of the 911 S from the late 60’s/early 70’s.
In other news, VW is also launching its first Autonomous driving test program here in the US. Austin, Texas will be hosting the program bolstering VW’s initiative for autonomous driving vehicle research and development with a fleet of 10 ID Buzz. Over the next 3 years VW plans to expand testing to at least 4 more cities with hopes to commercially launch autonomous driving vehicles by 2026.
And finally, Things are finally cooling down on the Freemantle Highway car-carrier. After dealing with a fire for about a week, the cruiser has temporarily anchored off the dutch coast and extinguished. There were about 3,783 vehicles on board, which included 498 EV’s which is definitely many more than the initial 25 reported. BMW and Mercedes have stated they had several cars onboard the Germany to Egypt bound carrier.

Also, don’t forget our Autos und Kaffee is happening August 26th. There will be some great cars as well as cool people out and about so come by and say hi. We hope to see you there!
