This heavy duty pin goes in the side of the block and locks the crank at Top Dead Center.
Essential for proper timing belt installation on all V6 Audi and VW engines except 3.0 liter (OK for both early 2 valve AND later 5 valve per cyl. engines but not VR6.) and the 4.2 liter V8.
