The newer cars have a front strut that is is held at the bottom by a hefty clamp in the bearing carrier. After using your own spring compressor, this tool will spread the clamp. Don't break your good screwdrivers on this task!

Handy hex base fits into wrench or socket. Turn 90 and leave in place while replacing strut.
