What Does An ECU Tune Do?

Your factory TSI power plant is controlled by an advanced Engine Control Unit (ECU) loaded with maps and routines to operate the vehicle efficiently — but much of the available performance is left on the table, and the calibration isn't written to take advantage of aftermarket power adders like cold air intakes, intercoolers, downpipes, and turbo upgrades. IE's ECU Tunes are extensively engineered to completely reverse-engineer the factory mapping and rewrite new calibrations for ultimate performance without sacrificing factory comfort and reliability. These tunes undergo thousands of hours of dyno testing, street analysis, track days, and altitude verification, with each round of testing resulting in obsessive revisions that take your VW or Audi 2.0T TSI from "peppy" to "WOW."

Exhaust Crackle

K04 Turbo

Stage 2 completely taps out all available power from the small factory BorgWarner K03 turbo. Upgrading to a BorgWarner K04 boosts your car to the next level, delivering up to 391HP & 398TQ, with your choice of 91, 93, or 100 octane.

Stage 1 Manifold

Included free with a Stage 1 purchase for owners with an IE Performance Intake Manifold installed (sold separately). This software fine-tunes the ECU calibration to match the manifold's plenum and runner flow characteristics, including special tuning for the removed runner flaps.

Stage 2/K04 Manifold

Included with all Stage 2 & K04 tune purchases for customers running an IE 2.0T Performance Intake Manifold (sold separately). Delivers power gains across the powerband, fully realizing the 2.0T TSI K03 or K04 power potential.
