I lost a factory bolt while installing my valve covers, is this the fix?+
Yes. With 24 valve cover bolts, it’s not uncommon for one to disappear during an install or engine build. Instead of purchasing an entire new OEM bolt kit to replace a single missing bolt, the iE Valve Cover Bolt Kit replaces them all with great-looking and easily serviceable hardware.
Why not reuse my factory bolts?+
You can absolutely use new factory bolts when installing your iE Aluminum Valve Covers. However, the factory bolt gaskets are single-use, and Audi only sells the bolts and gaskets as a complete kit. You can not purchase individual bolt or gasket factory replacements.
Does this include the valve cover gasket?+
No. This kit includes the valve cover bolt hardware only. iE Aluminum Valve Cover upgrades include the required main valve cover gaskets with purchase.
I lost an iE bolt. Can I replace just one?+
Yes! If you lose or damage one of the bolts, there’s no need to purchase another complete kit. Simply replace it with a standard stainless steel M6 x 1.0 cap-head screw with a T30 drive.
I lost an O-ring. Can I replace just one?+
Yes! If you lose or damage one of the O-rings, it can be replaced individually. Use a chemical-resistant Viton O-ring with a 14 mm outer diameter and 1.0 mm cross-section.
Can I use these with stock valve covers?+
Yes. These bolts were designed to visually match and complete the look of our iE Aluminum Valve Covers, but they’re fully compatible with your factory valve covers as well. It’s an easy way to add a cleaner, more premium hardware finish while gaining reusable, serviceable O-ring seals.
