IE Carbon Fiber Intake System
The IE air intake system for your Audi S6 or S7 4.0TT engine is the result of extensive engineering — 3D scanning, rapid prototyping, rigorous back-to-back flow bench validation, dyno testing, and track proving — to produce real power, torque, and sound that elevate your driving experience.

Flow Bench Results
Flow rate testing validates the design against the restrictive stock airbox. Using IE's in-house Superflow bench, maximum possible flow rate in CFM is measured as a gain over stock across a range of test pressures — a higher flow reading means the intake can support increased demand from ECU tunes and turbocharger upgrades.
| In/H20 | Stock CFM | IE CFM | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|
| -5 | 213 | 263 | 23.5% |
| -10 | 313 | 375 | 19.8% |
| -15 | 388 | 462 | 19.1% |
| -20 | 452 | 534 | 18.1% |
| -25 | 506 | 601 | 18.8% |
| -30 | 562 | 658 | 17.1% |
Dyno Results
Beyond flow bench testing, real-world power numbers come from IE's in-house dyno cells, showing what the improved flow rate does for horsepower and torque. Testing was performed in controlled conditions on an IE Stage 1 tuned car, back-to-back the same day across multiple octanes — results show consistent, significant gains above 5000 RPM, right where the stock airbox reaches the limits of what it can flow.
Power Summary
- The large internal volume, massive air filter, and multiple air sources allow for an unrestricted supply of airflow.
- The internal velocity stack provides a low-turbulence transition from the filter to the inlet pipes.
- The carbon fiber airbox channels ambient-temperature air quickly to the turbochargers while protecting airflow from engine bay heat.

Quality Components
To match and exceed the high-end fit and finish of the flagship S model S6 & S7, this intake system was engineered without sacrifices, compromises, or shortcuts — only the best materials and design features, chosen to set the benchmark for 4.0TT intakes.
- High-gloss true carbon fiber construction
- Integrated carbon velocity stack
- 5.5" engine-specific pleated cotton filter
- Full carbon twin inlet pipe
- Factory-style mounting
- Stainless hardware
- Powder-coated aluminum bottom plate
- Multi-ply silicone with stop-flat edges
- Stainless laser-etched logo plate
Complete Assembly
The airbox assembly comprises the carbon filter housing, a 5.5" high-flow filter, an aluminum bottom plate, a carbon velocity stack/inlet pipe, stainless hardware, and all mounting provisions for a complete bolt-in solution.

Carbon Excellence
Carbon fiber can be manipulated into almost limitless shapes, letting IE's engineers use every millimeter of space in the tight factory engine bay. The unique architecture and contours allow for a larger internal volume and smoother airflow, while simultaneously shielding it from radiant engine bay heat.
High-Flow Velocity Stack
To gain the highest flow possible, the velocity stack transitions airflow from the large surface area of the air filter and smooths its travel to the inlet pipes. This clean reduction accelerates airflow into very high inertia, eliminating power-robbing drag and turbulence.

Unique Sound
You own a twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 powerhouse — let it roar. The factory 4.0TT intake is a compromise designed to restrict sound for regulated production requirements. Upgrading to IE's performance intake system unleashes a symphony of eight-cylinder engine and turbo sound that makes the throttle more addictive than ever.
Multiple Pressure Zones
The front inlet connects to the grille and receives a constant supply of ram air. The aluminum bottom plate also pulls an endless supply of low-pressure air from beneath the intake. Together, these two avenues give the air filter a complete, unrestricted supply of low-temperature airflow for any power goal.

Precision Fit
To ensure a perfect fit, 3D scanning tools create a digital duplicate of the vehicle's engine bay, grille, bumper, and hood — a high-resolution environment used to reverse-engineer and prototype the intake design. This lets engineers take advantage of all available space and results in a perfect, extremely high-end install.
Easy Installation
Install your new intake system without any modification or hassle. The process is simple and quick with basic tools. The airbox uses factory-style mounts for a perfect fit and to allow for natural engine movement, keeping intake components from getting damaged. Install time is 1 hour or less.
