Bringing together folks from across the country, the legendary Tail of the Dragon becomes a temporary hotspot for the weekend, packed with spirited drives, beautiful vistas, incredible builds, and unbeatable vibes. For the uninitiated, Wookies in the Woods (WITW) is a grassroots event that began as a dedication to fans of the VW R32 platform - particularly the Mk4 and Mk5 generations - and then moved on to the broader Volkswagen Golf R community. Centered around the scenic and twisty roads of Deals Gap, this event is all about passion, performance, and people. Wookies in the Woods 2026 reminded us why this event remains a cornerstone of the VW community.
