Please note that models produced from 06-2015 and later require bench-flashing and will not work with the FlashZilla OBD tools. Your production date can be found on the VIN-placard in the driver side door jamb.

To determine exactly what type of EDC17CXX ECU you are working with, copy the Bosch Part number from the ECU's sticker (e.g. 0 281 030 723) and then enter it at http://www.bosch-automotive-catalog.com/en/product-search. Right away you'll see the exact EDC17CXX type.

For 2014+ BMW 328d with SCR (DEF) delete, you must unplug the SCR controller:

  • Picture 1 - The General location of the SCR controller.

  • Picture 2 - Close up picture of SCR controller plugged in.

  • Picture 3 - Close up picture of SCR controller unplugged.

  • If the DPF is also deleted, then unplugging the DPF pressure sensor is recommended. The DPF downpipe must be gutted out, or replaced with an aftermarket downpipe.

For 2014+ BMW 535d, X3, and X5 diesels with SCR (DEF) delete, you must unplug the SCR controller:

  • Picture 1 - The general location of the SCR controller is inside the rear hatch. Lift the floor flap near the far back.

  • Picture 2 - The floor flap is lifted up.

  • Picture 3 - This is what the SCR controller looks like, and it is unplugged.

  • If the DPF is also deleted, then unplugging the DPF pressure sensor is recommended. The DPF downpipe must be gutted out, or replaced with an aftermarket downpipe.

For 2014+ BMW X5 diesels with SCR (DEF) delete, click here to see a picture of the alternative SCR controller location. This needs to be unplugged.
