FACELIFTED VW MK8.5 GOLF MAKES ITS DEBUT

Front 3/4 Angle

💥 New Car Alert!

The Volkswagen Mk8.5 Golf has made its inaugural debut this week.

Featured highlights include a completely revamped infotainment, dubbed MIB4, backlit temperature controls, a fully overhauled steering wheel bringing back buttons, and ChatGPT integration with VW's voice assistant, IDA.

Along with the new hardware, the interior boasts new processor upgrades, to try and eliminate lagginess across the new features, a common complaint among the older Mk8 platforms.

END OF THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION

⚠️ Leaving Manual Transmissions In The Rear View!

VW will no longer be offering a manual transmission in the GTI, and owners will only be left with a DSG option. This definitely signals the end of an era, but luckily its not all bad. The GTI powertrain has also undergone a slight "facelift" however and will be seeing a nice power bump from 241hp to a reported 261hp.

🚘 Sticking To The Formula

Moving to the exterior of the car, you will find that VW has stuck to its tried-and-true mid-refresh process. Updated lighting front and rear (alongside the light-up VW emblem), slightly revised bumpers and a new OEM wheel which reminds us of some Alfa Romeo Giulia wheels. They have also decided to forgo the fender badge we have grown accustomed to from the MK7, MK7.5, and MK8 for a larger badge under the side mirror.
